PICK THE RIGHT CLUB
At the start of your game, you are faced with a number of job opportunities. Selecting the best job is crucial to getting your career off the ground. Look for jobs with good staff ratings, and good movement in the budgets so you are more flexible and can bring more of your own players and staff in. Don't be afraid to take a job in the lowest league and you'll still earn reputation points for doing a good job.
HIRE THE RIGHT MANAGER
This is one of the most important hires in the game. Get the best manager you can get as he will drive the club forward and demand the best from you.
BUILD A GOOD MANAGEMENT TEAM
Key staff like coaches and assistant are key to the team and to getting the best out of the manager. Make sure you hire good quality and try and match the preferred playing style of the manager.
REQUEST MORE WAGE BUDGET
Make a request to the board to shift some available funds budget to wages so you can build a better squad and hire better staff
DON'T BE AFRAID TO MAKE WHOLESALE CHANGES
You need to aggressively build the squad, so don't be afraid to terminate the contracts of players you don't want. Top directors can often have as many as 20 incoming and outgoing in the first transfer window.
ACT QUICKLY IN THE TRANSFER MARKET
July 1st is when all clubs release players and they hit the market, don't hang around though as the best bargains will be snapped up.
