The game is a very good way to waste a few hours, but I am getting to the point now where I feel the game is becoming unplayable due to unrealistic wage demands.
For example, at the moment I can see 4 players on my "shortlist" that are rated "73"
Player 1 is getting £8,500
Player 2 is getting £6,300
Player 3 is getting £6,050
Player 4 is getting £7,050
If I put in any offer for them and get to the contract discussion stage with any of these players they are suddenly wanting at least 100k a week each.
In my team I have 2 players rated 73 currently. Player 1 is on £200,500 a week, with player 2 on £151,150
I can go to the "top" teams in my leauge (Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester Utd/City) and can see that they have players between 80-85 in ratings, on LESS than players I have rated 73.
If I try to buy one of those players they suddenly want £575k a week plus.
Any player or member of staff I try to sign will automatically be demaning 120k+ at low 70 rating, yet when they play for ANY OTHER club they very rarely hit 10k a wage with them.
How can this be justifed in the game, as the fee's being demanded specifically for my team seems to be ridiculous compared to everyone else. There are higher stature clubs paying a fraction of what I am, so it can't be linked to the stature of my club that way, nor can I be "too small" that I am having to over compensate with wages.
The other issue now is that any player I sell I then have to also give money to in lue of lost wages as I'm paying stupidly over the odds.
Will this be sorted and ammended, as at the moment I feel I've gone as far as I can with the game, as even though my wage budget is actually 2M HIGHER than anyone else in the league, I have the worst side in it, because I'm having to pay 10x the amount in wages as anoyone else.
What team are you? I haven't noticed unrealistic wage demands before.
I created my own team and started from the bottom.
I've had successive promotions right up to the Prem, with the first season in the Prem seeing me having a total wage budget of just under 4M.
I've now got players rated between 70-75 demanding 150K plus as a minimum, with more than half of my 23 man squad pocketing over 200k.
I make it that the team I've only just got into the Prem here is paying out around 50% MORE than Man City are in real life - yet I don't have a single player rated higher than 77.
Its almost like relating to having Man City's wage budget going on players that are the calabire of say Leeds Utd, yet I can't readress the balance as every player I want to bring in or look to bring in is wanting into the hundreds of thousands too.
One transfer target I looked at who was out of contract wanted £219,000 off me per week. I offered the lowest the game would allow me, which was around £130,000 and the offer was rejected. A week later in the game that player had signed for a championship side for £11,250 a week. To me that shows this game is broken.
I've been wondering about this as it seemed a bit unrealistic. I'd never really thought to go and look at other big clubs to see what their budgets looked like.
I know how it feels my wage bill is 7m a week
home games -2.5m
away games -10m
can't keep up
I noticed this problem immediately I started playing. To overcome it I did the following:

I only signed FREE agents. I however did it sneakily. When you sign a free agent you have a board recommended offer and a demand from the player.
If you do not offer the player what he wants he will demand more till his price is met.
A little trick is to WAIT for other clubs to bid for the free agent. This means that when you make your wage bid it is just one of many other competing wage bids. The game will immediately accept your bid and say the player will get back if he accepts the bid as he is looking at offers from other clubs.
This game has a GLITCH that is mentioned on this forum where other clubs often obtain players for a cheaper wage than you. This bug is helpful here.
Your bid will ALWAYS be the highest and accepted.
99% of the time when I did this provided your manager is rated HIGHER than the player and the player is interested, you will get the player.
NB: Competition for the BEST free agents that are interested in joining your club is VERY high. You may want to offer MORE than the board recommended wage.
This of course will be far lLESS than what you would pay the player if you were biding for his services alone.
